Technical information used by this service
INSTAVERIFY records limited technical access information to protect the service, understand device compatibility and review how trial access is being used.
Information recorded
- Device category inferred from the browser: phone, tablet, computer or other.
- Browser and operating-system family.
- The connection IP address supplied by the hosting network, where available.
- The two-letter country code inferred by the hosting network from that connection.
- Signed-in account identifier, or an anonymous guest identifier when not signed in.
- First seen, last seen and the number of visits from that account/device combination.
- Names and company details submitted in searches, selected records, report openings, timestamps and search outcomes.
How it is used
This information is used for service security, abuse prevention, technical support and high-level usage analysis. It is visible only in the private owner dashboard and is not used to make an underwriting decision.
Retention and accuracy
Technical access records, including IP address and device details, are automatically removed after 90 days. A separate search activity log is retained for the owner’s service administration. Deleting a saved search removes it from your workspace, but does not delete that activity log. Device and country classifications are inferred and may be incorrect. A VPN, proxy or mobile network may cause the recorded IP address and country to differ from the user’s physical location.
Trial access
Visitors can complete three free investigations. Registration is then required for unlimited searches. Other visitors cannot see your saved investigations, notes or case management. The site owner can see search activity and, for registered accounts, the account name and email address. Guests are recorded using an anonymous browser identifier; this does not establish their real-world identity.
